Join our very own Karen Laing in this webinar that explores the most important qualities of trauma-centered and compassionate care. By the end of this webinar, the participate will be able to:

  1. Describe a working definition of mindful awareness and its role in health care relationship, change process, and systemic change.
  2. Recognize the characteristics of 3 emotional regulation systems as they relate to work satisfaction and sense of accomplishment as a lactation consultant using the emotional regulation tool.
  3. Differentiate ’empathy’ & ‘compassion’.
  4. Summarize the literature assessing if compassionate connections impact health and well being.
  5. Summarize current state of health disparities & impacts of racism, discrimination, & trauma/ACES.
  6. Describe the impact of personhood/quality of relationship on health care outcomes.
