I (don’t) know how you feel: Exploring the narrative of parenting
Details
February 27, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
This conversation is aimed at maternal/child professionals, family supports, social supports and for those who work with pregnancy, birth, parenting, adoption, or family wellness.
When we support expectant or new families, we sometimes make assumptions or create meanings that we impose upon others. Becoming culturally sensitive means we have to learn about our own minds, our own habits, our own experiences and how they ARE impacting the care we provide.
This interactive webinar invites us to explore our personal narratives (you needn’t be a parent to have a parenting narrative!), and we’ll explore intersectionality—how our experiences are informed by a constellation of factors including gender and gender identity, race, class, sexual orientation, urban/rural landscapes and more.
