Mindful awareness training doesn’t just help us with the really lovely stuff, like swimming on a summer day or being on vacation. It helps us to notice what is right here, right now, even in a difficult moment.
We can use our sensory experiences to pay attention, to train our attention in the ways that will increase our grey matter and make pain less terrible. When we pay attention, we also notice more of the joys that are available to us in any given moment.
